According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a teenaged boy died near Atlantic Boulevard Estates when his Lexus struck a car, a utility pole, and then rolled over.
it was reported that the 17-year-old was speeding in a Lexus with two friends when the fatal accident occurred. They were identified as a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old.
The report says the 16-year-old teen was pronounced dead at the scene on Lee Road near Atlantic Boulevard Estates.
The driver of the Lexus, a 17-year-old male of Fort Lauderdale, “suffered serious bodily injuries” and was taken to the nearest hospital, the report says. The 14-year-old male was also transported to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
As reported by JSO, “The black Lexus was traveling northbound on Lee Road at a high rate of speed when it lost control. The Lexus then crashed into a utility pole and flipped over onto its roof.”
