According to Fort Myers Police, a Total of Seven People were Injured in an Accident Involving Four Vehicles Along Colonial Boulevard.
Two of the victims had to be put on a life-support system due to traumatic injuries sustained in this accident, police reported. It was further reported that five others sustained various degrees of injuries. The driver of one of the cars involved in the crash and a passenger were both found unconscious when paramedics arrived.
EMS crews reportedly arrived at the scene on Colonial Boulevard to transport the injured victims to a nearby hospital. They first attended to the two unconscious victims, then had to stabilize a third going in and out of consciousness at the scene. This third victim was cleared for transport and all three had to have emergency critical care upon arriving at the trauma center. The rest of the victims were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulances.
Police assured that a thorough investigation will be carried out to ascertain the cause of this severe multi-vehicle accident.
