Florida Highway Patrol Troopers Say a Man was Killed After He was Struck by a Vehicle in a Construction Zone Along State Road 82 on Saturday Afternoon.
According to troopers, the 68-year-old Clewiston man was standing along the dashed lane divider between the outside and inside lanes of eastbound 82 when an SUV traveling east in the inside lane east of Bell Boulevard South hit him.
The 37-year-old Cape Coral man driving the SUV was not hurt.
The Clewiston man died at the scene.
Authorities did not reveal the cause of the crash and did not say if the SUV driver is facing any charges. The accident remains under investigation.
