A 23-year-old Lehigh Acres man was killed after crashing his motorcycle on Daniels Parkway near State Road 82, officials said.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 12:45 p.m.
Authorities said the motorcyclist was speeding eastbound on Daniels Parkway in the inside lane and as he approached a turn he continued straight, hit a median, and crashed.
Witnesses said the man fell off his bike and a car that was driving near the biker stopped in the road to avoid getting involved in the crash. The motorcyclist ended up hitting the front of the car.
Emergency Services rushed the biker to Lee Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, troopers said. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
