According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a car ran the red light and t-boned a SUV on Monument Road.
This accident happened at the intersection of Monument Road and St. Johns Bluff Road North. It involved a Toyota car and a Honda CRV. A red Hyundai reportedly ran the red light while driving southbound on St Johns Bluff Road North. According to the police, he slammed a Honda that was eastbound on Monument Road in the process.
Report says, five people were involved in this accident. The 24-year-old driver of the Toyota was with a 23-year-old female passenger whom report says was his girlfriend.
In the other vehicle, it was reported that there were three occupants in it. The SUV flipped after it was hit by the fast-moving Toyota car.
EMS said the occupants of the SUV sustained the most severe injuries. An officer said the driver and the passenger on the front seat was unconscious when they arrived, however, the occupants of the Toyota sustained minor injuries.
The occupants of the SUV were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment. Meanwhile the two occupants of the Toyota were treated at the scene of the crash.
Police are still investigating the incidence.
