One Driver was Killed and Another Suffered Serious Injuries in a Lee County Crash.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 45-year-old Fort Myers man was traveling east on Daniels Parkway, near Eagle Ridge Drive, around 9:27 p.m while a 63-year-old St. Petersburg woman was traveling west in an SUV on Daniels Parkway.
FHP said the car went through standing water on the roadway and lost control, traveling onto the westbound lanes and colliding head-on with the SUV.
The man was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
