A Teenager was Taken to the Hospital After Being Struck in a Hit and Run Crash on Ruth Ave South and 8th Street Southwest in Lehigh Acres, Officials Said.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said the teenager, 16, was hit by a car and injured around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. A family member drove them to a nearby hospital.
The driver who hit the pedestrian left the scene, troopers said.
Authorities said information about the identity of the driver or how the crash happened is currently unknown and that the crash remains under investigation.
