According to Florida Highway Patrol, an 18-Year-Old Man was Driving Two Others, 16 and 17, on the SR-113 Exit Ramp (Southside Connector) to Regency Square Boulevard When the Crash Occurred.
Report says one teen has been pronounced dead while the two others have been critically injured from the impact of the rollover crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver swerved left, off of the road when all three were in a vehicle heading south on the Southside Connector exit ramp to Regency Square Boulevard. FHP also reported the vehicle overturned several times and eventually stopped in the embankment by the shoulder of the road.
The passenger that was pronounced dead on the scene was identified as a 17-year-old Lenny Espinal-Medina. Report says the 18-year-old driver was critically injured, and another passenger, a 16-years-old, suffered serious injuries.
FHP says the driver was wearing a seatbelt, but they’re still investigating whether the two passengers were. Meanwhile, according to the crash report, it’s not believed alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Charges are pending further investigation.
