According to Fort Lauderdale Police, a Vehicle Struck a Pedestrian on Riverland Road at Oak River, Leaving the Pedestrian Severely Injured.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Southwest 16th Court on Riverland Road, authorities said. A 24-year-old pedestrian was hit by a Chevrolet by a 31-year-old woman. The woman reportedly lost control of the Chevy and swerved uncontrollably though at a slow speed which minimized the impact.
It was reported that this pedestrian involved in the accident sustained severe injuries. The man had injuries to the head and back. Authorities also confirmed that the injuries sustained by the pedestrian are not life-threatening.
EMS crew reportedly arrived at the scene of the accident to attend to the people involved. It was not reported whether or not the driver of the car sustained any injuries.
Report says Fort Lauderdale EMS transported the pedestrian to the nearest hospital.
No charge has been filed yet. Fort Lauderdale Police are still investigating the accident.
