Authorities Said a Woman Suffered Serious Injuries When She was Struck by a Car in a Jacksonville’s Pine Forest Neighborhood in St. Augustine Road.
According to police, the collision happened near Brewster Street when a woman was hit by a sedan heading south on St. Augustine Road.
It was reported that the family members of the victim identified her as 54-year-old April Robinson. Report says she was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
From the report, family members said Robinson was fighting for her life in the intensive care unit. Her brother and daughter said that she suffered a serious brain injury and they are holding out hope that she can pull through.
According to the report, Robinson, a longtime Pine Forest resident, walked to a bus stop every morning to go to work, however, she was on her way to a doctor’s appointment when she was struck while trying to cross the street to get to the bus stop.
Police said, the driver, who stayed at the scene, was cooperative with the crash investigation.
