A 57-Year-Old Cape Coral Man Died in a Single-Car Crash on Diplomat Parkway East, Officials Caid.
Officers with the Cape Coral Police Department said they arrived at the crash scene around 3:40 p.m.
A witness said the driver, identified as Humberto Munoz, was speeding down Diplomat Parkway and was headed towards a curve in the road. The car continued straight, past the curve, and drove through a vacant lot.
Finally, Munoz slammed into a utility pole and the car rolled over multiple times. Munoz was thrown from his vehicle and the car rolled over him, officers said.
Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The crash shut down all traffic near the 700 block of Diplomat Parkway as law enforcement worked to investigate and clear the scene. The road has since been reopened.
