Authorities said a bicyclist was taken to the hospital in critical condition Thursday night after a hit-and-run crash in Delray Beach.
According to officials, the man, thought to be in his 70s, was biking along Germantown Road near Homewood Boulevard at about 6:30 p.m. when the crash happened. He was struck by the driver of a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee who left the scene.
Authorities said the vehicle has damage to the front end of the driver’s side.
Delray Beach Fire Rescue took the man to the hospital in critical condition.
A stretch of Germantown Road near Homewood Boulevard was closed for about an hour while police investigated the crash.
