Report says a Naples woman that was involved in a car accident died from the injuries suffered in the crash in Golden Gate Estates.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at Everglades Boulevard and Randall Boulevard in Golden Gate Estates. Diane Catalano, 50, of Naples, died hours after the incident, troopers.
It was reported that Catalano was northbound on Everglades Boulevard approaching Randall Boulevard. She then stopped for the red flashing traffic signal at the intersection of the two streets. She was driving a 2018 Toyota Corolla.
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old man of Naples, was behind Catalano and failed to stop in time, rear-ending her vehicle, according to FHP. The man was driving a 2005 GMC 2500HD.
Report says Catalano’s vehicle was propelled forward in a northeasterly direction and came to a rest on the northeast grassy shoulder near the intersection.
The other victim suffered minor injuries in the crash, which is still under investigation, according to FHP.
