Report says a young woman was driving on Park Street when her vehicle collided with a Jacksonville Sheriff Officer’s car.
According to the report, officers responded to an accident that involved a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office vehicle on Park Street.
It was reported that a young woman, whose identity has not been uncovered by the law enforcement officials, collided with the officer’s vehicle. The officer was reportedly treated at the hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The woman was treated at the scene by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
Report says, Park Street has a yellow flashing light and authorities are not sure who hit who.
The Jacksonville Sheriff Officer injured in the crash was on duty at the time and has been working that shift for the past three years. It was reported that he suffered pain from the seatbelt and airbags but was released from the hospital and is expected to make a complete recovery.
Traffic Homicide is investigating the accident.
