The Florida Highway Patrol report says an 85-year-old man was attempting to make a left turn onto US Business 41 when the accident happened. He reportedly failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming Kawasaki Vulcan driven by a 35-year-old Justin Bent.
Bent was thrown from his bike and later pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle and his wife Virginia were both taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
FHP said the area where this crash happened has recently become a familiar place for them. There have been reports of four crashes alone on the 1.5 mile stretch between Pirates Rest Road and Island Vista Drive.
The crash in still under investigation and no charges has been filed yet.
