According to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a juvenile died in a head-on collision on Norwood Avenue in North Jacksonville.
When police arrived at the scene of the crash, one vehicle was flipped over and another was damaged. Police freed one person from the flipped car who was reportedly taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. It was reported that a child involved in the wreck was deceased when they arrived. The age of the child has not yet been confirmed.
According to JSO, three other people involved in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said, it appeared that the driver of one of the cars tried to make a pass in a no passing zone when they collided with the front end of another car.
The 6300 to 6700 blocks of Norwood Avenue will remain closed while traffic homicide detectives investigate the crash.
