Authorities say a male motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon in Broward County when he hit the wall of an exit ramp and was ejected from the bike.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the rider lost control of the bike and hit the right concrete wall on Florida’s Turnpike’s southbound exit ramp to I-595 near Davie. He was thrown over the wall and off the ramp while his motorcycle remained above.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the victim was a 41-year-old man from Oakland Park, but have not released his name.
Officials did not reveal what caused the motorcyclist to lose control but say the crash remains under investigation.
The right lane of the exit ramp was closed for investigation, but the left lane remained open.
