The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a traffic crash along at NW 135th Street and NW 22nd Avenue that resulted in two dead and one injured.
The victims of the crash were identified as Edmon McCoy, known as DJ Boogie, and Robinson Lazard, known as DJ Styles. According to the Family members, the two had been out at events.
Report says MDPD units were dispatched to a ShotSpotter call along NW 22 Avenue and 62 Street. On officer’s arrival, a white Dodge Charger was sighted fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.
However, report says the silver Mustang the two deejays were traveling in was not tied to the initial police incident. They were most likely innocent victims who became involved when the Charger smashed into them, causing at least one to be ejected from the vehicle.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) responded to the scene and transported both occupants (deejays) of the Ford Mustang. Burt Saint Louis, 27 of Miami Shores, to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Miami-Dade police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said all three of the people involved in the crash were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. Both deejays ultimately died from their injuries.
