Law enforcement officials say a 45-year-old motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries when he tried to avoid an accident with a teenage driver on Starratt Road.
According to reports the motorcyclist was headed northbound on Starratt Road when a Honda Accord, driven by a 16-year-old female from Jamestown, drove into his path causing him to crash trying to avoid a collision. The teenage driver turned left from Dunn Creek Road onto Starratt Road, entering the motorcyclist’s path.
According to law enforcement officials, he tried to avoid the impact by laying down his motorcycle onto its left side. He was thrown from the motorcycle and then he, and the motorcycle, struck the left side of the Accord driven by the teenager.
EMS arrived to the scene of the accident soon after it happened to administer on-site first aid to the injured victims in the incident. Emergency crews reported that the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, sustained life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the nearby hospital by ambulance soon after EMS arrived. The 16-year-old sustained minor injuries and was treated at the accident site before she was released by authorities and EMS.
Officials say the incident is still under investigation and no further details were released.
