The Police Department is Investigating a Deadly Accident that has Left One Person Dead and Another Severely Injured After a Wrong-Way Driver Collided Into Another Vehicle.
Law enforcement officials say the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Eyewitnesses said, the crash was a head-on collision after one of the drivers, who was heading in the wrong direction on the interstate, crashed into the other incoming vehicle headed in the opposite direction. The impact left one person dead and the other victim in critical condition.
The released report stated that paramedics arrived on the scene of the accident soon after it happened. The other victim suffered life threatening injuries and was administered first aid treatment before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical assistance.
The eastbound lane of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was immediately closed off after the accident so that traffic crews could clear the wreckage and vehicles.
No information about either driver has been released to the press at the time of this report. Police say no charges have been filed and they are still investigating the incident.
