One Person was Injured After a Drunk Driver Slammed Into Another Car on Ortiz Avenue Near Billy’s Creek Drive in Fort Myers, Officials Said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Nichole Politis, 41, was driving a 2019 Lexus when she crossed the center line and hit a van heading in the opposite direction.
Troopers said Politis allegedly fled the scene on foot, but she was later identified and arrested for DUI.
FHP reported that at least one person was injured in the crash. The crash led to the closure of all directions of Ortiz Avenue as crews worked to clear the scene.
