Report says Florida Highway Patrol and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Units Rushed to a Crash Scene Involving Two Tractor-Trailers Leaving One Person Ddead in West Miami-Dade.
This furious and fatal accident happened at Southwest Eighth Street and Krome Avenue in West Miami-Dade. A tractor-trailer was said to have been T-boned by another tractor-trailer as the truck was making a left turn from Krome Avenue onto Southwest Eighth Street.
According to FHP Lt. Alex Camacho, a white container a left to go west on Eighth Street, and then the truck actually collided the front portion with the container. It was reported that a woman died as a result of the wreck, while a man was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center in critical condition. These were the occupants of the large vehicle.
The driver of the tractor-trailer escaped without injury.
The accident prompted troopers to shut down the northbound and southbound lanes of Krome Avenue between Southwest 88th Street and Okeechobee Road. However, the lanes have been reopened hours later.
Reports also indicated that the westbound and eastbound lanes of Southwest Eighth Street between 157th Avenue and Krome Avenue were also affected.
The medical examiner was on the scene to remove the woman’s body.
