According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened after a joint operation led to a police chase.
Police say a joint operation led to a crash on East 44th Street near Rose Street. One person died and at least one other person was taken to the hospital. According to the police, the SUV involved was driving dangerously so they tried to pull it over. It crashed pretty close into a woman’s home in Panama Park.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said, no officers were injured. Police reportedly began to chase the vehicle after the it was seen driving dangerously. One person died in the crash, according to JSO. The investigation is still ongoing.
