According to Crash Report from Florida Highway Patrol, a 32-Year-Old Driver Suffered Minor Injuries After an Accident on U.S. 1.
Report says an 11-year-old St. Augustine girl was killed in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 1 in St. Johns County.
It was reported that a driver of SUV was traveling north in the left lane of U.S. 1 when he attempted to go around a large puddle of water. Consequently, he lost control of the vehicle leading to the fatal accident. Troopers said the SUV then crossed the median and overturned, ejecting the 11-year-old passenger.
Unfortunately the young child passed away at the scene. As confirmed by the Highway Report, there were indications that she was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver, a 32-year-old St. Augustine woman, suffered minor injuries, the Highway Patrol said.
