According to the Crash Report, a Young Woman was Driving on Winkler Avenue When Her Vehicle Collided with a Fort Myers Police Officer’s Car.
Report says officers responded to an accident that involved a Fort Myers Police’s vehicle on Winkler Avenue.
It was reported that a young woman, whose identity has not been uncovered by the law enforcement officials, collided with the officer’s vehicle. The officer was reportedly treated at the hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The woman was treated at the scene by Emergency Medical Service.
Report says, Winkler Avenue had a yellow flashing light and authorities are not sure who hit who.
The Fort Myers Police Officer injured in the crash was on duty at the time and has been working that shift for the past two years. It was reported that he suffered pain from the seat-belt and airbags but was released from the hospital and is expected to make a complete recovery.
Traffic Homicide is investigating the incident.
