It was Reported that a Woman was Killed in a Hit-and-Run Accident on Edgewood Avenue West at Magnolia Gardens in Jacksonville.
Report says a 58-year-old woman died from blunt trauma after being involved in the accident.
The victim and a 52-year-old man were riding on a moped when they were struck by a dark GMC Yukon at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue West and Ribault Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
She later died at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She and the driver of the moped were thrown off. A silver, older-model Oldsmobile then ran over her. Both vehicle drivers left the scene and did not stop to help the injured moped riders.
It was also reported than an arrest has been made of a 72-year-old man. He was the driver of the Oldsmobile that drove over the victim. “He’ll be charged in court as soon as investigation is concluded’’, JSO said.
Police are still seeking the driver of the Yukon. Surveillance pictures of the suspected vehicle is serving as a major clue in the investigation.
