Report Says a Woman Became Trapped in Her Lexus SUV When the Vehicle Plunged Into a Canal as Football Fans Left Hard Rock Stadium.
A woman became trapped after the vehicle slammed into two other vehicles and a chain link fence before plunging into a canal. This reportedly happened when football fans were leaving nearby Hard Rock stadium after the Miami Dolphins game.
Reporting for Florida Highway Patrol, Lt. Alex Camacho said a number of police officers were already in the area. The officers responded to the crash and rushed to help the woman, he said.
In Camacho’s words, “there was a lot of police presence in the area due to the Miami Dolphins football game at Hard Rock Stadium. FHP troopers immediately responded to the submerged vehicle, arriving within seconds.”
Report says two FHP troopers, a Miami-Dade police officer and a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue diver jumped into the canal.
Camacho said, the woman was taken to Aventura Hospital in critical condition.
The caused the crash was not immediately clear, investigation is ongoing.
